Minimax UniVario industrial heat detector
Bad Oldesloe, Germany, March 31, 2008 – The new Minimax UniVario explosion-proof detectors can be used in environments where it is too explosive for other detectors. Minimax is the sole manufacturer of industrial heat detectors for areas at risk of explosions. They can withstand temperatures of up to 400°C and have VdS and ATEX approval.
Industrial fire protection requirements are complex; impeccable functioning is required under all conditions. At the very forefront are fire detectors, which detect different types of fires, control the extinguishing systems and must be deployable in all areas.
In order to fully meet these customer requirements, Minimax has developed heat detectors for areas at risk of explosion. The new, explosion-proof heat detectors from the UniVario product range are intended for use in explosive zones 2 and 22.
Due to their robust casing and assembly technology, they can be used in areas where a hazardous explosive atmosphere can arise when air and combustible gases, steams or fog mix, or one that results from a cloud of combustible dust contained in the air.
The intelligent, platform-based and microprocessor-controlled heat detector can be connected without a safety barrier directly to the central fire alarm system using normal cables. For the explosive areas with alarm temperatures of up to 400°C, there is currently no other product on the market with VdS and ATEX approval.
